Cureight
Terms
These are the rules for using Cureight. They're short because the product is simple: you keep the eight places you'd send a friend to in a city, and you see your friends' eight. Using the app means you agree to what's here.
What Cureight is
A place to keep and share your musts for cities, and to follow other travelers' musts. It is a personal recommendation, from a person, to people who know them. It is not a review site, a directory, or a guarantee that a place is open, good, or safe. Check before you go.
Your account
- You need to be 13 or older to use Cureight.
- One person, one account, under your own name or a handle that isn't pretending to be someone else.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your sign-in to yourself.
- You can delete your account any time from Profile → Privacy. Everything you made goes with it.
Your content
Your lists, notes, and photo are yours. By putting them on Cureight you give us permission to store them and show them to the people your settings allow, on the app and on the web pages you share, for as long as they're on Cureight. Delete something and that permission ends with it.
Don't post anything you don't have the right to post, and nothing that identifies a private person against their wishes.
What's not allowed
- No ratings or reviews. A place is on your list or it isn't. Notes are for what to order or when to go, not for grading.
- No harassment, threats, hate, or targeting anyone.
- No impersonating a person or a business.
- No spam, no ads disguised as lists, no scraping, and no using the service to build something that competes with it.
- No trying to get around the privacy settings, the eight-place limit, or any other part of how the app works.
If something breaks these rules, we can remove the content, and for repeated or serious cases, the account. Every profile has a report option and a block option; we read reports.
Places and maps
Place names, addresses, hours, photos, and map links come from Google Maps and are subject to Google's terms. We cache what we're allowed to cache and refresh it from time to time. It can still be out of date.
No warranty
Cureight is provided as it is, without promises that it will always work, that a list will always be there, or that a place will be what someone said it was. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses that come from using it, including a bad dinner. We'll fix what we can when you tell us.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect. Keep using Cureight after that and the new terms apply.
Where this stands
Cureight is made in Maryland, USA, and these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. Anything that can't be settled by talking gets settled in the courts of Montgomery County, Maryland.
